2015-12-19 Wilderness Ebb and Flow Restcamp

On our way to our campsite for the evening we had a fishy lunch in Knysna and then enjoyed watching the life guard fighting with people wanting to mess around in the rip current @ Sedgefield

Then had drinks in Wilderness to avoid the heat of the day in the tent

Then cooled off in the dark, warm waters of the Wilderness river!

And the caterpillar that got me!
And we enjoy campsite carols with a mini orchestra! Which got a little rained out at the end

Well, I think this review is biased by my big city upbringing. I loved the wilderness because of the combination of quaint big city restaurants, as well as a blue flag beach and the calmness and rusticness of the river. There was enough outdoors to feel adventurous, but enough city to make you feel comfortable.

Lots of family groups spread across multiple campsites. Lots of little kids with space for them to play. A calm river so kids can swim safely or paddle on a boat. The ablutions are clean and spacious. There were two tents selling boeries, chips on a stick, hot choc, cappuccinos and watermelon. The staff were also friendly, allowing us to choose our site from all the open ones. They had also organised their first carols with members from an orchestra leading.

We didn't try the walks but they were there and you could rent boats. Even segway tours!

But don't forget to take your blue camping plug with you! Also don't make our mistake...pay the extra R50 for a river view!

Out of all our campsites this is the face I would be able to stay for a whole week. The drive out towards cape town even made me want to move here and live along the river!
