2015-12-17 Tsitsikama National Park

Walk to the suspension bridge

Afternoon walk along the mountain side

Treating ourselves to dinner at the restaurant

The following day we did the exhausting walk to the waterfall (which is the start of the Otter Trail)

Well there is.definitely.a.reason why Tsitsikama park charges R45 conservation fee per day, the highest of.any of.the parks on our list. It is a beautiful place with:

1. Amazingly clean ablution facilities. I was a bit sad we were in a log hut without a bathroom, but it really wasn't bad since little fairies were constantly.cleaning the facilities (literally you somehow barely.saw the cleaners). There also was a laundry
2. A great swimming pool right next to the sea. Which explained why it was a bit murky
3. A very fancy restaurant...main meals for nothing less than R60
4. A shop.with curios (for the multiple foreign visitors) as well as food. I didn't price the food but assume it couldn't have been cheap
5. Honorary game rangers giving guided rock pool tours...though the sea was.too.rough on our day
6. A.fun.walk/run with prizes
7. A.private.company running snorkel and kayak tours up the gorge. Though the red tide while.we.were there.meant no.snorkelling
8. Amazingly maintained walks (2 x 1 bridge walks, including the one to the suspension bridge, and a 3 to 4 hr to.waterfall...Amazing, but a lot of.clambering over big rocks...felt there should have been a danger warning for this one but I am.also overly paranoid and pregnant)
9. Awesome log huts.and.cabins for those not into camping (some even had dstv dishes!)
Hence when.we.drove out.on the last day there was a long line of cars waiting to come in
