2015-12-18 Knysna Camping Decks

Lunch in Plett overlooking the beach (very hot sand!)…thankfully quick service!
The real world caught up to us today and we had to find a postnet to print and scan (R54 to scan 15 pages!)...So we suffered through it by having lunch on the beach in Plett and green tea lattes and chess at MnB (to recover from the chaos that was PnP)

Had to do some admin at Postnet so rewarded ourselves with smoothies at Mug n Bean at the very busy shopping centre!

After a relatively long drive on a continuously upward dirt road we reached the camping decks. What a treat! Spent the afternoon lying on the deck!

Scott went for a 7 km run in the forest the following morning. He absolutely loved our stay. I on the other hand am completely freaked out by forests…I thought the fireflies were people with LED lights coming to get us, and I nearly died from fear on my 1 km walk the next morning!

The next day we also went to see the 600 year old King Edward tree:

Kysna Camping Decks review:
Again, the reason for paying R34 conservation fee (compared to R45 at Tsitsikama) was evident:
1. The lady on the front desk, while eventually warning to us, appeared very dubious at first. Made me worry that they had messed up our booking
2. While the showers look relatively.mod, the swinging door means water just drips on the floor and without a shower mat our chair to put your stuff on in the small cubicle it gets complicated. And it's definitely not cleaned as often so you want to wear your slops
3. No pool or shop or restaurant. There was a sign in the bathroom for a tea garden but it seemed ordering ahead of time was needed...though braai packs were listed and I thought a great idea.
